Today I want to dive into the nuts and bolts of laying our your lighting console and some of the tricks that I use when doing this. Note that I am primarily a grandMA programmer, and so these might not always translate to other consoles without a bit of modification. Also note that I am highly opinionated and have my own way of doing things. Colibri: an organic motion sculpture

Kinetic sculpture is the jam. This one by Derek Hugger (Who has several pieces of similar art on his site.) simulates the motion of a hummingbird in flight, and does so with what I can only describe as genius-level engineering prowess coupled with unmatched elegance. From the site: Every element of motion has been completely mechanized, from the beating wings to the flaring tail. Intricate systems of linkages and cams bring the sculpture to life with a continuous flow of meticulously timed articulations.
